About Us

HRT Studio was founded by Aleo Landeta and Kit Robbins, queer, trans artists and partners based in Oakland whose practices explore identity, transformation, and the complexities of lived experience. Aleo works across drawing, painting, installation, and public programming to center queer joy as liberation. Meanwhile, Kit's instinctive approach to woodworking and metalworking uses biomorphic forms to examine the tensions between human identity and societal perception. Together—in life and in art—their work reflects a shared commitment to authenticity and the ongoing process of self-determination.
