About Us

HRT Studio is the collaborative practice of Aleo Landeta and Kit Robbins, queer, trans artists and partners based in Oakland whose distinct design backgrounds converge in a practice rooted in trans liberation.

Kit Robbins (they/he) is a mechanical engineer and former product designer now leading design and fabrication at a commercial contracting firm. Kit founded Longfellow Design, crafting bespoke architectural and sculptural elements. Their flowing, body-like forms coax sculpture and function into playful conversation, using an engineer's eye to imagine new ways of exploring identity and perception.

Aleo Landeta (they/them) is an artist and educator who has designed arts curricula across museums, libraries and schools. Treating education as social design, Aleo builds learning frameworks centering marginalized voices, particularly contemporary QTPoC artists, using arts integration as a tool for liberation and community-building.

Their work reflects a commitment to living authentically—and invites others to do the same.
